The Teams

The following teams have confirmed their attendance at the 2003 World Masters/Under 19 Championships to be held in Christchurch, New Zealand.

India has not confirmed its attendance at this stage, but Sri Lanka confirmed on March 17 that they would be sending their Over 35 Mens team.

While a bit disappointed that not all nations are participating in all the divisions, World Indoor Cricket Federation President & New Zealand Indoor Cricket Executive Officer, Mark Cini, is delighted at the prospect of seeing the world's first Junior International and Women's Over 30 championships fought out between the world's three top Indoor Cricket nations.

"In Perth 2001 we saw just how entertaining and exciting a World's Masters competition could be. Now we've added the world's best Over 30's Women and the world's best Under-19 players. This tournament is going to be the best showcase of Indoor Cricket ever" he said. "And with 14 teams competing, it is also going to be the biggest international Indoor Cricket tournament ever held".

The late inclusion of Sri Lanka in the Over 35 Men competition is a welcome and exciting development. "This is fantastic news for the tournament" said Mark Cini today. "Sri Lanka were a sensation at last year's World Cup, and we're ecstatic they're now going to be in Christchurch".

We couldn't agree more.
